CONGRATULATIONS to Inter Care community champions Benedicta Bremang and Miki Jablkowska completing the Virgin Money London Marathon (VMLM 2019) on Sunday 28th April 2019!
The London Marathon consists of 26.2 Miles starting at Blackheath and finishing at the Mall. For the full route map: Click Here.
The Marvellous Miki has now completed her THIRD marathon in aid of Inter Care, finishing this year in 4 hours, 28 minutes and 39 seconds! Miki has been in quite some pain during her training suffering with;
– Plantar Fasciitis, this is where you have pain on the bottom of your foot, around your heel and arch.
– Iliotibial Band Friction Syndrome, it is the most common cause of pain on the outside of the knee in runners and other sports people. The friction causes inflammation and pain!
– Bad Back.
“The weather was cold as we started so I picked up someone’s discarded (very nice though!) sweatshirt from the rubbish. Windy with a tiny bit of rain but close to perfect weather for running 26.2 miles! As always in the London Marathon, AMAZING support in the streets!!! Great seeing ‘Max’ from EastEnders (and running past him!) I love EastEnders!!! A lot of the EastEnders cast were running for Dementia to support their Ex-Cast member, actress Barbara Windsor.“

The Brilliant Benedicta completed her FIRST ever marathon in aid of Inter Care, with a time of 5 hours, 42 minutes and 26 seconds!
“I started off with an injured right knee and a tender heel! Everything was plain sailing until mile 12 when I just couldn’t push through the stomach cramps and felt like giving up. It was not until mile 19 when I prayed and spoke life into myself that I gained strength to overtake and sprint to the finish! The best parts were the overwhelming support from all of you and watching the crowds! God bless the ice-lolly man! Plenty, plenty, plenty lessons learned.”
