Congratulations to Robbie Cross and Pip Ross for completing the Great North Run 2017 raising collectively over £700!

“ I was determined that this year would be the year that I would finally run the GNR – my wife and my sister have both ran it in the past. I chose Inter-Care because having visited Africa in my youth I know how important medical supplies are to the communities there and how we can take them for granted in the UK. 
In particular I was impressed by the return on investment that Inter-Care offer with the majority of the money raised directly supporting those in need.
Never having ran before (other than for a bus) training was a struggle at first, but as the sponsorship started to come in my motivation increased. One day mid-run I stopped to look at my total raised and saw 2 new sponsors, it genuinely helped me run up the next hill and beyond.
The day itself was amazing, a real sense of community and excitement. The support from the crowds and seeing my family half way along spurred me on and I managed to beat my expected time (though I was still slower than my sister!).

All told I raised £395 and I hope to get the chance to run again next year and raise even more“– Robbie Cross
